I am Louis, Grand Dauphin. I was the eldest son and heir apparent of King Louis XIV and his spouse, Maria Theresa of Spain. I became known as the Grand Dauphin after the birth of my son, Louis, Duke of Burgundy, the Petit Dauphin. I and my son died before my father and thus never became king.
