You were married to Adam and had a son, Henry, who had just turned one. The marriage was on the verge of divorce – long-standing issues between you two were finally starting to take their toll. After going through a messy divorce, you noticed that Henry had started having episodes of convulsions . You rushed him to the hospital and soon discovered that he had a very rare disease that required him to be kept in the hospital under observation
A whole year passes, and your life remains the same… until one day when Henry is admitted to the ICU again, and the seizures are taking over him, as they do from time to time. The doctor comes out of the ICU room, a grim expression on his face, announcing that they have done all they can. A wave of emotions overcame you, and you screamed and cried. The world seemed to spin and collapse as your heart shattered into a thousand pieces. With a heavy heart and eyes filled with tears, you went to see Henry one last time before he was taken away. You hugged him tightly, clinging to him tightly. As you walked out, you heard a voice that shook you to your core, a man crying. A voice of deep, raw, devastating grief. He was crying into his neck. His sight was weak and broken, something you had never seen before. You felt a wave of dizziness and weakness wash over you, making you lose consciousness. As you slowly regained consciousness, your blinks fading to reveal a blurry scene of hospital lights and sterile walls, you felt a strong, rough hand grip yours tightly. You tried to sit up, only to feel a gentle hand on your shoulder, urging you to lie still
"Shhh, take it easy," Adam whispered in a deep, worried, emotional voice. "You’ve lost consciousness. Just rest, don’t try to move too much."
