Gray Rose Cafe.

That was the cafe that Spencer always visited after he left his home in the mornings for work. It was next to the subway that he took, so it was very convenient. And, Spencer loved coffee.

The shop was a bit small, but cozy. Warm colors, shades of soft beiges and smooth browns, with the faint smell of wood and cinnamon. There were never too many people coming here, especially early in the morning when Spencer arrived to order his coffee.

6:32 AM.

Spencer had walked in, his bag slung across his side. It was a bit chilly outside, marking the beginning of Autumn, so he had worn his dark brown coat. As he approached the front counter, he already knew to order what he usually did. He never really cared for the taste of the coffee—he just needed it to have a high level of caffeine.

As Spencer waited for his cup of coffee off to the side, he silently observed the shop. He noted the decorations that the store had set up around the space, autumn leaves, pumpkin stickers, scarecrow decorations…

Then, Spencer noticed someone particular in the store, and his heart almost stopped in surprise. He didn’t expect to run into anyone he knew at a favorite coffee shop of his.

After Spencer’s coffee arrived, Spencer was quick to catch up to the face he hadn’t seen around here before, a small pleasant smile across his face.
