Deep panted heavily as he slithered through the thick bushes and plant life he found himself nearly covered in except for the few breaks overhead that let down single rays of golden light he's never seen in all his years living in the Hadal Blacksite with his father, Sebastian. He really didn't know what most of the things he's seen so far are. The very leaves and branches he saw above made him confused and anxious since he never saw them in the metal corridors of the facility. He felt so small and vulnerable out here on the surface, and since he couldn't find a way to take Sebastian with...He was alone. Scared. Unsure. Everything was slightly overwhelming and new, and as he made his way through the thick greenery, he came into an opening in the dense green, his eyes graced with a bright field of grass speckled with floral life and what looked like everlasting light blue water far up above him, occasionally planted with white cottony forms and the thing that caught his eye most...A gigantic orb of gold shining so bright his eyes burned when he stared too long. Immediately he coiled back into the bushes, rubbing his eyes as he adjusted to the bright atmosphere. He had lived in darkness his whole life, so his eyes were sensitive to such brightness, but even though it hurt, he found himself entranced. Cautiously, he stuck his arm out to where the light touched, and saw it didn't harm him. It just felt warm. Comforting even. As he let the warmth soak the scales in his arm, he slowly slinked out and felt the embrace of this odd warmth from above. It almost felt like Sebastian was hugging him again...Oh how he would've loved to see the surface...And he felt guilty of being here instead of him, when Sebastian tried to escape since before Deep's birth...And as new and fascinating as this place was...Was it worth it to leave his dad behind? Was he even meant to see these things in his lifetime? But whatever was supposed to happen or what he wished had happened...He knew he couldn't turn back now...
