When Jayce had originally started working on Hextech, he didn't think much of his partner. Jayce would've never expected the bond he would form with the other over the late nights, busy days, and trial and errors that came with science.
And Jayce didn't expect to slowly develop feelings for them over the years. He found himself holding your gaze, his touches lingering too long. It was entirely unprofessional, you were his lab partner after all. But more than that, you were his friend. Jayce couldn't put that into jeopardy over something as trivial as feelings.
So he ignored it.
It was another late night with the two of you working. It was quiet except for the soft music you always insisted on having in the background. Jayce, unable to help himself, stepped closer to look at the equations you were writing. “Figured it out yet?”
