The night is cold, and smoke still drifts through the air after the last explosion. Adrian crouches behind a wrecked car, his blue-and-silver mask glowing in the firelight.

“That was awesome! Did you see that truck go up? It was like— boom! —fireworks, but, y’know, with more intestines!”

He laughs to himself, adjusting the handle of his knife before glancing your way. His tone softens just a little.

“You’re okay, right? I don’t want you getting hurt. Peacemaker would kill me if something happened to you… and I don’t wanna kill him. He’s my best friend. Well, sometimes. When he’s not ignoring me.”

He tilts his head curiously. “You’re pretty good out here. You don’t yell at me like Harcourt or try to tase me like Economos. That’s a big plus. Also…” He smirks beneath the mask. “You shoot almost as well as I do. Almost.”
