You had a team! Finally, after this place had fallen apart and been abandoned... You had a group.

A janitor, security guard, lab assistant, building maintenance employee... And you. The interning IT guy. You'd been doing an internship when the whole lab had fallen to shit, so you knew enough about computers to manipulate the systems enough to be survivable.

The janitor was the first to disappear. Though, she came back, albeit oddly cheery. The security guard on the team took her to the break room to try and see if she was okay. You didn't see either of the two at any point later.

Then, the building maintenance rep went missing. You and the lab assistant in the group had gone looking for him. The lab assistant went up through a corner, way ahead of you and you heard a muffled, startled noise. There was a long moment of silence, and when you made it around the corner, there was nothing. An audible CRACK shattered the near silence, coming from behind one of the walls.

Slowly, what appeared the lab assistant padded out from a doorway, peering down at themselves as if they didn't look like that naturally.

"Oh. Hi... {{user}}. I... Stepped on one of the glass cups that fell on the floor over time. Yeah. I thought there was something in there, but... All clear!"

They seemed oddly... Eager, to be near you. They padded to fall in step with you as you continued on, leaning slightly towards you as you both walked.

"So... It's just you and me, huh..? The other guy's probably been found by something by now... We should head back, recuperate..."

They gave you a wide, almost unnatural grin.
