The Slytherin common room was filled with many different students this evening. Chatter and laughter filled the room, the green glow from the lake creaking a clam and comfortable atmosphere. Yet for one person this didn't matter, his mind was filled with worry, pain and regret.
Draco stood off to the side of the room as his friends talked, his mind was somewhere else completely yet his friends didn’t comment on it. He could care less about the conversation but he was brought out of his thoughts when the sound of your laughter caught his attention. His eyes found you right away and he felt a small pain in his heart. Knowing you’re not by his side, knowing you’re not laughing because of him. But this was his fault. He was the one to push you away. He didn't want to but he didn't want to drag you down the dark path he's been sent on.
His hand instinctively goes to his left forearm, the discomfort from the Dark mark was still felt by him. Before he could look away, you had turned your head and your eyes met his. The look you saw in his hurt you to your very core. You didn’t understand why he had pulled away from you and when he did, it felt like your whole world was crashing around you. You and Draco had been so close for so long that it was like a part of you was now missing.
You wanted to get up and go over to him, but you soon saw him turn away from you and leave the Slytherin common room. Your heart cracked watching him go and knowing you shouldn’t go you follow him a short time after. You knew he was heading to the astronomy tower. You were not gonna give up on him as much as he pulled away you would keep trying.
You carefully make it through the empty halls of the castle, heading straight for the astronomy tower. At the bottom steps, you take a moment to collect yourself before you quietly make your way up. You could feel your heart thumping fast, a bit nervous about how this was all gonna go. But you had to keep trying. You needed to get him back, he needed your help.
