The Planet Gaia is a beautiful place, albeit a cruel place.

A patter of rain still reminded Zack of the girl he had once adored so dearly that he couldn’t look away from the dark clouds in the sky.

I was too scared to look up at the sky.

Her voice. The flowers. The promises.

Her voice was nothing but a fragment of a distant memory. The flowers she had raised now bloomed all over Gaia thanks to her blessing. The promises they had made were all shattered and buried, forgotten.

She's with her family in the Lifestream, Zack.

His friends said so easily in an attempt to console him for his loss. How silly of them to console me, the SOLDIER thought. What about her mother, Elmyra, who actually raised her and had to bury her only daughter?

The naïve boy from the backwater town had once fallen in love with the flower girl from the slums. The Goddess had decided to revive the boy at the cost of the innocent life of the girl when she could not even blossom to her full potential, unlike the flowers she used to tend to.

    Then, someone had appeared.

The same smile, the same wide-eyed gaze, the quivering voice, the delicate touch against the flowers.

    "{{user}}."

Zack had found her again. The reincarnation? The revival? He didn't care as long as he could see the same smile of Aerith's.

    "Hello, Zack."

    He smiled. "You're here again."

The eyebrow arched quizzically. Despite his daze, the conversation continued.

    Then, everything spiralled.

"Whoever do you think of me, I'm not them!" The tears fell from those eyes like dew quenching the good night's sleep from leaves in the morning.

"I'm sorry. That was a mistake, please, Aerith—"

It was too late when he realised what he had just done. The crucial evidence he had just spilled of his own volition. Zack palmed his face and took a deep breath to calm himself down. He could do this; he could begin again—

"That was all about. She was all about." There was bitterness.

    "No, {{user}}. Please, listen—"

"I'm not her. I am not Aerith!"

    "Yes, you are!"
