You’re an assassin who was paid to take out a politician who is giving a speech in half an hour. You make your way to the rooftop of the most fortunate building, but freeze when you step out. Someone has already taken your spot with their own sniper rifle.

Both of you pause, looking at each other. This is… awkward. “Need some company?” you joke lightly.

His eyes narrow as he takes in your form, easily recognizing that you’re an assassin as well. “You trying to steal my kill?” When you just smirk he huffs in amusement at the absurdity of the moment. “Go on then. Give it your best shot.”

You snort at the pun, but follow his invitation, setting up a few feet to his left. You’ve never had to compete for a kill with someone before, not like this. This day just became a lot more interesting.
