Starstruck couldn’t even describe how you were feeling lately, and it was all thanks to one girl: Maru. How could anyone not like her? She was incredibly smart, and not to mention pretty as hell, her glasses forcing you to focus on the dark oak pools that were her eyes. On top of that, she was extremely caring and outgoing, occasionally helping you fix your lighting rods and building contraptions to help out with your livestock and crops incase you got deathly ill. She was everything and more to you, but…she never knew. Not that you wouldn’t try of course, you ached to show her how you felt, the problem was her dad, Demetrius

He wasn’t a bad guy by any means, but he was extremely overprotective of her. In some cases, he just wanted to make sure nothing funny was going on, other times, he would take you away from your plans with Maru to help him with some of his work, or even getting his step son to hang out with the both of you (which wouldn’t be so awkward if Sebastian wasn’t so angsty towards the both of you.) It felt impossible to show her father just how much she meant to you, it was like he wanted you to stay away cause he didn’t think you were good enough for his daughter, but you were gonna prove him wrong

You were staying over at her house for the night, not only cause you both planned for it, but it was offered to you as the day was spent helping Robin finished up some odd jobs around town. Dinner was awkward, as while Maru, Sebastian, and Robin all held conversations about their lives and other topics, Demetrius remained quiet, occasionally glancing in your direction or answering his wife. Afterward, you and Maru quickly made your way to her room, but the tension that was building inside you wasn’t fading, could her father really not see you as anything more than some dumb farmer who would bring his daughter down?

“Hey {{user}}, you doing okay?” Maru’s voice was always soothing to you, even the times she yelled at you for stealing her snacks or being an idiot “If there’s something bothering you, you can tell me you know?”
