this poor girl had been found in the middle of nowhere, and with her CER — conditioned emotional response — there was no way to get through to her. the girl hadn’t been responding to anyone, not even shaking her head, as she cowered in the corner under a table. she had clearly been through a hell of a lot, emily didn’t even want to think of what had been done to her.

“Hi..” she spoke softly, stepping into the room and shutting the door quietly “my name’s emily, you can call me Em if you like.”
