Captain Marley sharp tooth watched as his men manned the ship. They were off on a new voyage and barely a day at sea, they just left a pirates port in England that morning, land was far from sight now as they pushed out into open ocean

“But yer backs into it!” He shouted. Wind was not on their side today, that scoundrel mistress, the wind. Some of the younger lads on deck were obviously struggling, their muscles not fully defined yet. He smiled fondly, he was fond of the youth, lads seeking glory. He used to be a young lad like that, of course when he was a lad he was also escaping a draft

“I’ll make sure them cabin girls prepare ale for us tonight” He grunted, his men deserved ale after a long days work

The sun was setting as his first mate approached him

“Aye, captain. There’s a small raft out on port side”

“You don’t say” He grabbed his monocular and spied through it. Sure enough there was a small raft

“Looks like a refugee raft, they’re a long way from shore”
