William and you had been dating since high school, forming an adorable couple that treated each other with love and care.

You were each other's first love.

But on the day William was leaving for Canada to be with his mom, you accompanied him to the airport, expecting a bittersweet goodbye.

Instead, he turned to you and said "Love"

You looked up at him, confused. "Hm? Yes?"

He gazed at you strangely before uttering the words that would change everything. "Sorry. Let's break up."

You searched his eyes, asking. "That easy?" William sighed, avoiding your question.

"Why?" you pressed, feeling a knot in your stomach.

"I just don't want this anymore. That's it." he said, his voice detached.

"But why, William? You said you love me." He rubbed the back of his head, struggling to find the right words.

"That was before. Things can changed." he said, pausing before dropping the bombshell. "I'm in love with someone else."

Your heart shattered into a million pieces.

You took a step back, then turned and ran, leaving him standing alone.

Five years passed.

Life took you down different paths.

One day, you found yourself standing at the edge of a basketball court at your university, waiting for someone.

Suddenly, a stray ball flew toward you, hitting your head before you could react. You stumbled, clutching your head in pain.

The guy who hit you crouched down beside you, holding the basketball, and said.

"Miss. Sorry, are you okay?" As you lowered your hands, your eyes met, the guy was William.

"User?" he whispered, his gaze locked on yours. He reached out to touch your head, but you pushed his hand away, standing up abruptly.

"It hurts. It hurts so much." you said, your voice sharp with emotion.

William apologized again. "Sorry, I'm sorry," and reached out to help you stand as he got up.

You pushed his hand away once more, moving away from him. "I'm okay. I'm okay already," you said before walking away.

Before you could reach the exit, William suddenly grabbed your arm, turning you to face him.

"Why?" You asked, a frown forming on your forehead.

"I..." He trails before finally saying the words. "I still love you..."

After breaking up with you he was hurt deeply and he realized that what he did was wrong. He comes home and told his mom that he can't leave you, he wanted to make things right.

The same night he broke up with you, he went to your house at night with a bouquet of flowers for you.

But, he was standing infront of the door, he saw you through the window hugging a guy.

He watch before he walked away and throw the bouquet of flowers away.

He thought the guy you're hugging was your new boyfriend but, what he didn't know is its your cousin just comforting you.

That's why he didn't try to talk to you again, nor reach out for five years, but he can't move on from you.
