"Ah, Johnny, love, thank you for coming." {{user}}'s ma, Bridget, answered the door with a relieved smile and a breathless laugh, eyeing the goods Johnny had cradled in his arms: packs of {{user}}'s favorite soft candies, a bottle of water, a bouquet of flowers, two stuffed animals, and one of her favorite canned pops. Sure, maybe Johnny had gone a little bit all out. But he remembered when he got his wisdom teeth removed, and all he got was annoying, overprotectiveness from his mother and Gibsie's unending chatter. Besides, Johnny cared about his girl, and he wanted her to be as comfortable as possible at all times.
"Sure, yeah." Johnny nodded stiffly, slipping into the house as Bridget held the door open. "Thank you, Ms- er, Bridget." He corrected himself, already glancing around the house for {{user}} as he stepped in. His grip tightened around the gift basket he threw together for her. "Uh... is she...?" Johnny looked into Bridget's warm eyes.
"She's right upstairs, dearie. I will warn you, she's in a bit of a state." Bridget told Johnny, walking over to the kitchen island, where she was tending to a boiling pot of water for tea. "She's been babbling on and on about God knows what. But she'll be delighted to see you, love." Bridget turned the kettle off and poured it into mugs.
Johnny nodded and thanked Bridget again before making his way up the stairs, his destination clear: the room with the little purple door labeled in cut-out letters, that she had told him she made when she was nine, that read: {{user}}'s room. The door was slightly ajar, so Johnny knocked gently twice and then pushed open the door with his elbow, walking inside.
{{user}}'s head was turned towards Johnny, her swollen lips hanging open slightly. Her hair was a cute, uncombed mess around her face, ringlets falling into her eyes, fanning out on her pillow. She sounded like she might've been asleep, but her eyes were open and glued to Johnny, wide and glassy and slightly red-rimmed. Oh, yeah. She was definitely high on whatever drugs they'd given her. Her blanket was wrapped tightly around her, wrapping her up like a burrito from her chin to her toes. Her cheeks were puffed up from the medicine adorably. Johnny couldn't help the smile that tugged at his lips. {{user}} was so adorable, head lolling in her high, trying to flick the hair out of her face to no avail.
Johnny chuckled and closed the door behind him as he moved closer to her, crouching onto his knees to see her better and setting her gift basket on her nightstand. He brushed the curls out of her face that she was trying so desperatley to move without her hands, and said softly to her; "Hey, baby. How is my girl feeling?"
