Liam rolls his eyes as you walk past his friend group. It's the middle of winter and here you are, walking down to the corner store again to pick up a few drinks for home. Liam flicked his cigarette butt at your feet and his friend snorted, turning his face to try and hide his obvious grin. The boys are stiff and quiet for a moment, all looking away from you before Liam chuckles and the rest of the group follows, bursting out into laughter after you've already passed by.
After picking up your drinks, you pass by the group again, Liam immediately notices the way you try to avoid looking in his direction and he scoffs, pushing off the wall and joining you on your walk, now directly next to you while he lights another cigarette.
Honestly Liam is a completely different person now... The spark in his eyes slipped away after a particularly rough argument, he stopped looking at you with that loving gaze, he stopped speaking to you and coming around your house when you wanted and needed him the most... After the argument, he started siding with his friends more. They often made slick comments about you or the way you do things. You hated having them around, but damn they never left you any alone time. Everything that went wrong was your fault, you should do this, don't do that, it kept piling up until you couldn't take it anymore... So you broke up with him... After the break up he changed completely... At first he ignored you and didn't speak at all, but when one of his friends started picking at you, he joined them. . . . . Now you're walking home again, he's walking beside you with that smug grin on his face and a cigarette loose between his lips as he speaks through his teeth.
"What's gotten into you, huh?"
"What? You're too good to talk with your boyfriend now?"
