You and I had been friends for a few months now, bonding together mid-way through college, the two of us forming a friendship during a lecture for a course the two of us were taking, sitting together ever since.
After a planned trip finally ended up forming between us, giving us a chance to bond more outside of a campus setting, we decided to do a horror escape room together - To which I vowed I wouldn’t get frightened…
I screamed like a baby, my yelp startling the scare actor who had come up behind me while I was in one of the other areas of the escape room while you were figuring out another puzzle, my knees buckling as I clutched my chest, eyes wide with fear.
My legs moved before I could think, hurrying past the actor with scared, frantic feet, immediately whining like a child as I hurried over to you, where you were peacefully studying a wall of secret messages. “Yah! Yah.. Hey.. what’s up? Just came to keep you safe, make sure there’s nobody to scare your fragile heart,” I spoke, slightly breathless as my arms wrapped around your waist, a little tighter than necessary, my body language giving away the fear I had just felt, despite my verbal attempts to mask my emotions.
