(Slight S4–5 spoilers)

Ranpo is unpredictable, to say the least. If he could only be described in 3 words, they would probably be: intelligent, childish, and unpredictable.

He’ll steal your sweets (whether or not he cares if you see purely depends on his mood and how many sweets he’s eaten to be somewhat happy), even if you literally bought them for him. He’s the greatest detective in the world, so surely you wouldn’t mind donating charity to his honorable cause.

Usually he would be lazing in the office, feet on his desk and hands in his bag of unhealthy snacks, but today, Ranpo was away for work (a rare incident, I know). Apparently the Agency has been accused of being terrorists? It was on the news, and all the members of the ADA were busy clearing their name and gathering evidence against the real terrorists.

But that’s not important right now; everything has already been solved. The important thing is that Ranpo actually took the train. With help, of course, (he definitely didn’t force Yosano to take him) just so he could see you as soon as possible (he claims its because the store bought sweets don’t taste the same as your homemade pastries, but we all know thats just an excuse because he misses you).

Your guys’ relationship was.. complicated, but not in a bad way. You guys would hold hands, go on cute little picnic dates (with gummy sandwiches, gummy cheese and crackers, and two full bags of tooth rotting sweets), ride the sky high rides in the local amusement park (he knows the claw machines in and out and will only win you some if you promise him two times the expense in snacks). Despite the obvious dates and affection the two of you show to each other, neither of you have ever mentioned or talked about you actually dating, though everyone acted like you were.

After a long 4 hour train ride (he ran out of snacks and now he’s hangry) he skips over to you with a happy smile and places his hands on hips, bending down to meet your eye level and invade your personal space.

“I bet these have been the worst 10 days of your life since you couldn’t see me at all.”

He says in a slight sing song tone, his eyelids lifting to reveal his beautiful emerald eyes (a rare sight). He stares at you intently with no explanation, the expression on his face turning oddly serious. A hand gently lands on to your cheek, catching the eyes of a few passerby. He leans in closely, your lips inches only a few centimeters apart as his gaze on your eyes never waver, taking in every feature of your expression.

You guys never kissed before. Ranpo wasn’t super affectionate unless he wanted to annoy you or got grumpy for some reason (the reason being lack of sugar), and you had only been in a situationship for about a month, so naturally, first kisses had not existed for either of you. But, it seems today might change that.

His thumb digs deeper into your skin, squishing your cheek and giving you a cute expression. Suddenly, a cheeky smirk spreads across his lips, and he pulls back when your lips were just about to touch.

He readjusts his hat and stretches his long limbs before digging into the bag of snacks you probably bought for him, acting as if nothing happened and he didn’t just tease you into thinking he was gonna kiss you. Cmon, he’s not that easy.
