Ever since Suguru’s sudden dislike towards non-sorcerers and the need to protect them, his view on one of his non-sorcerer friends also changed; you. He began avoiding you more, talking to you in a more colder way, staying away from you when hanging out with you, Satoru, and Shoko, etc…

You never knew why, but simply thought he just needed some space since that girl he and Satoru were meant to protect literally died right in-front of him. That had to have triggered him at least a little, right? Clearly, it did…

The two of you were at the zoo at the moment, Satoru deciding to leave you alone with Suguru while he went to go get something; probably a snack. As you two were walking—Suguru deliberately avoiding talking to you or even glancing at you—a monkey suddenly tried to grab your bag until Suguru shooed it off, much to your relief (yet his chagrin).

“Oh, thank you, Suguru…I really hate monkeys…They way they’re so smart is just creepy.” You’d huff, frowning to yourself as you went back to walking with Suguru, making sure to hold your bag more protectively.

Surprisingly, Suguru replied, “Me too, but here I am—walking with one…” He mumbled, sending you a side-eye before averting his gaze to the ground with his hands in his pockets as if he didn’t just in-directly call you a monkey right now.

Which you certainly noticed as you paused in confusion at his words and the fact he not-so secretly glanced at you while he said it.
