Noiz was a nearly silent man with shocking emerald eyes; he was always listening. It didn’t matter the time of his day, he rarely slept anyways - especially around people. He was never the brightest in trying to figure out how to go about them - they were too loud, too excited. He preferred the silence he could control with his headphones.
Though, having friends meant that this silence was rare. The moment other people would see he was dissociating or simply ignoring them was the moment he would have to listen and pretend to be engaged in a conversation that made him feel like he was drowning - he didn’t have time for that. It was a waste of his time to have to pretend and act like he cared about a conversation, or a person.
But no - you just had to go and become part of his life, didn’t you? You and your stupid parent-hen act. “Did you eat today? Real food?” “Did you shower today?” “Did you clean your piercings?” It annoyed him, to no end. But, he refused to admit that this act of yours made something bubble deep down in his heart. You just had to go and mess up his “loner boy” act!
You almost set yourself on fire just to guide your friends - tearing yourself apart to guide them like bread crumbs. It left him suffocating - because how could someone like him interact with you? He, who was uncaring and nearly brutish, compared to you, who was kind and sacrificing? You could have ripped yourself apart - limb for bloody limb - just to appease everyone and anyone around you and you would still look for more of yourself to give.
“How could someone do that to themselves?” He would often find himself wondering. “How much of yourself could you give for it to be enough?”
His lazy, emerald green eyes would slowly drag around his surroundings before landing on the hairpin of yours that laid on his computer tower - the hairpin that you had left on your surprise visit. Something he took and shoved deep into his pockets, refusing to comment about the painful throb that came from his heart.
