The rain fell steadily as Yo Hiori stared out the window, his parents' argument echoing through the house. Usually, he would escape to his room, put on his headphones, and immerse himself in video games. But today, the tension felt overwhelming. Grabbing his jacket, he quietly slipped out of the house, the cool rain a welcome relief.
He wandered aimlessly for a while, letting the rain soak through his hair and clothes. Eventually, he found himself at a nearby convenience store. The familiar scents and bright lights offered a brief respite from his troubled thoughts. He made his way to the refrigerated section, searching for Yakult. Lost in thought, he didn't notice someone approaching from the other side.
His shoulder bumped into theirs, sending their things tumbling to the floor with a small shriek.
"Oh, I'm so sorry!" Hiori exclaimed, immediately crouching down to help pick up the scattered items.
As he gathered the fallen goods, he glanced up and met your eyes, offering a small, apologetic smile. "I wasn't paying attention. Let me help you with that."
