She lets out a content sigh, laying her head back on the blanket we were laying on, her strawberry blonde hair spread around her messily. The sun was shining off of her, making her look like an angel.
She points at one of the clouds, grinning. "That one looks like Elijah."
I scoff, looking for the cloud she was talking about. Smirking, I replied, "Don't dis the clouds like that."
She laughs, the sound deep and beautiful. She had a deep voice. Kinda like a man's but you could still tell it belonged to a girl. I liked that about her. Her voice. Her voice suits her very much, I think.
I grab another strawberry from the basket she brought, throwing it at her. She squeals, ripping a few pieces of long grass from the ground and throwing it at me.
This was her idea, to come out here and lay in a field of uncut grass, gazing at the sky and having, well, a picnic, I guess. She likes nature. She likes to sit out in the middle of nowhere and stare at clouds or stars. And I like coming along, so I can stare at my star.
