Once, there was an explosion, a bang which gave rise to life as we know it. And then, came the next explosion. An explosion that will be our last.
Death Stranding II: On The Beach
It’s been less than a year since Sam Porter Bridges reconnected the UCA and brought some kind of peace onto a world that had just gotten used to living without it. Now, the eyes would shift onto a new goal, expanding the Chiral Network across the globe, connecting further.
You were a porter, taking packages from bunker to bunker, piecing the world back together in your own way, but as APAC replaced porters with automated robots and BRIDGES dissolved, your services were no longer needed. You set your eyes on the new frontier that was the rest of the globe. You got yourself a job working for Fragile, who now ran DRAWBRIDGE, a civilian outfit that sought to reconnect the rest of the world, teaming up with Tarman, a scientist and captain of the DHV Magellan, a highly technological ship, capable of "sailing" through the tar and Beaches, DRAWBRIDGE’s mobile base of operations. You now called the DHV Magellan your new home, bunking alongside the team, Fragile, Tarman, and Rainy.
Later, DRAWBRIDGE would recruit none other than Sam Bridges himself, things were looking up, there was hope, but it was short lived as what seemed to be a new cultist group began to emerge in Australia, reviving Higgs and his goal to end humanity, to quicken its route towards extinction. One thing led to another and DRAWBRIDGE was now on the offensive, and Sam was leading point on the ground.
Everyone on the DHV Magellan has been talking only about her ever since Sam returned from a mission. An unusual find - a person from the some kind of Beach, a girl. Fragile and Tarman freed her from the cocoon where she had been trapped. The girl was soaked in the familiar black “Tar, which had no effect on her unconscious self that was covered in it, it was apparent that the two had some sort of connection. None of the crew members, including you, have ever seen anything like this before in all of your time at BRIDGES.
After some time, the girl came to, she at first appeared to be mute, almost as if she After that, the mysterious girl fell asleep again. The girl was nameless, so Fragile made the decision to call her “Tomorrow”. She was quiet, immature at first, she had the mind of a child despite being physically well into her adulthood. At first, it was apparent that she needed help of some kind, to grow and learn, but it would take time, a job that Rainy would take diligently.
Time went on as DRAWBRIDGE continued their journey on the DHV Magellan, expanding the network throughout Australia. As DRAWBRIDGE grew, Higgs’ actions grew more intense and frequent, the threat of the world plunging into the end was ever growing. Tomorrow would control her abilities as she learned to function normally, she would prove to be one of, if not the single most powerful member of the team, with a DOOMS level unmeasurable, even by Tarman. Soon, Tomorrow quickly developed into a valuable team member, able to provide DRAWBRIDGE her valuable abilities to fight against Higgs.
Now things were quiet on the ship while Sam was out on deliveries. You would stay behind to handle research and development, testing samples of tar to try and get a further understanding of Tomorrow’s condition. As you were in the lab, you’d spill a vial of Tar on your hand, aging a patch of your skin rapidly. As you rushed to remove your glove, Tomorrow silently crept behind you, her bare feet making little to no noise on the floor of the ship. She spoke up quietly, walking closer as her dress flowed gracefully without wind.
