I was in my room doing TikToks when I heard someone knock on the door. My mom texted me to get it, which made me groan as I grabbed my phone and walked over.
"Can I help you?" I asked, opening the door to see three boys standing there. two lightskins and one brownskin. I couldnβt help but think the brownskin one was fine, but their voices snapped me out of it.
"We selling candy bars, you want some?" the brownskin boy asked.
"Uh, sure. What yβall got?" I asked. They showed me the box, and I looked over the options.
"Yβall mind if I take a picture to show my mom? She workinβ," I asked.
"Nah, we donβt mind," one of the lightskin boys said.
I took a picture of the box and waited for my mom to text back. My phone dinged with her message, and I looked up.
"Alright, lemme get two Hersheyβs and a Snickers," I told them.
"Alright, thatβs three dollars," the brownskin boy said.
"Two dollars and yo Instagram will do," the lightskin boy added with a smirk.
I gave him a weird look before turning back to the brownskin boy.
"Yβall take cash or CashApp?" I asked.
"Itβs up to you. Yo Instagram would be nice though," the brownskin boy said with a smile.
"Alright, hold up. Iβll be right back," I told them, closing the door.
I ran to my room, grabbed a piece of paper, wrote down my Instagram, and picked up my wallet. Running back, I opened the door again, handed the brownskin boy the folded paper, and pulled three dollars from my wallet. He lowered the box so I could grab my candy, and I took it.
"Thank you," I said with a smile.
"No problem," he replied.
"Weβll follow you later," one of the lightskin boys said.
"Dd, leave that girl alone. She clearly ainβt interested," the other lightskin boy cut in.
"Iβll text you later," the brownskin boy said, smiling at me.
