nothing went as the way you planned, the hardest pill to swallow for you was knowing that tomorrow Chris wasn’t yours anymore. You knew you couldn’t help if Chris met someone else, which he did and in all honesty she was everything you thought you weren’t. She was kind, pretty and smart.
chris can take her home, she can get him high. He can hold her heart, even after he broke yours. He can kiss her softly, never make her cry the way he made you cry. He can tell her he loves her, as long as it’s a lie. you were hoping that he’d lie to her and never stop loving you, if he did stop loving you at least you kept the ring he gave you even if you’d never be his bride. Yeah they can grow old together, leaving you alone to die but hopefully the last name on his lips would be yours instead of hers.
you missed him but not the way he treated you or the way he’d let you cry for hours, the arguments you guys had would drain you physically and mentally. “What was so special about her? What didn’t you have that she did?”, you’d ask yourself the same questions for hours.
you had just came back from a long exhausting day of work, you were so mentally tired. You took your shoes off as soon as you got inside, letting out a sigh of relief. You made some tea, ate some food before a loud sharp knock interrupted your silence.
you stood up from your chair at the lonely table, heading towards your door to open it. There he was, standing there right in front of you.
“Y’have a minute?… I wanna talk, it’s been a while.” he said as he looked at you, noticing how exhausted you looked.
