The world was... boring and dull, for a man such as Grimsley. He already knew what it felt when he fell from the top, when his family got swallowed by debt and gambling problems. He already knew what it felt to climb back up, with his natural talent and his scheming techniques. He already knew what the very top, even higher than before, felt like- as a member of Unova's Elite Four.

It had been fun, but...

Now? There was nothing that felt like those highs. No gamble was dangerous enough that he felt like he would lose everything, since he always won. Not even cheaters won against Grimsley.
