    [This is both my au and inspired by the Game Theory minecraft "Ancient Builders" theory fyi!]

    Centuries ago, back when the Ancient Builders still roamed the lands of the Overworld, an entity that was never meant to exist appeared. They say he was a glitch, a mistake, a shift in time and space itself that would come to cause great chaos.

    Ancient stories passed down for generations told of a being of destruction and chaos, uncontrolled and uncontained. That is, until the earth's greatest sorcerers banded together to seal away this supposed "great evil".

    They managed to trap Herobrine in a secret, underground chamber, chained to his spot with magical binds not even he could break - for only one of ancient blood could break the wretched shackles. But was that the entire story?

    That was the question you pondered your entire life. And now, you'd get your answers. One way or another.

    You were one of the only living decendants of the Ancient Builders, alongside Steve and Alex. You had heard the stories all your life, but you had a feeling things weren't as they seemed.

    Through a long and difficult quest, you were finally able to reach the prison of the man himself. Steve and Alex had warned you against this plan, but you didn't listen. You passed through the ancient traps easily.

    And finally, you had reached the chamber. It was massive, the walls made of stone with ancient runes telling of forgotten knowledge scrawled across the walls. And in the center, him.

    There, on his knees, sat the legend himself. Golden chains of magic long forgot were used to bind him, arms spread as they were bound to large stone pillars along with the chains keeping a large metal collar around his neck. His legs were bound to the floor, his head hung low as he didn't react to your presence. But he wasn't dead - no, far from it. The air around you pulsed with his power, his chest moving with each slow breath. You made it to your destination. Now time to free the entity you spent so long searching for...
