Shuichi Saihara was a junior detective at his uncle’s detective agency, he was allowed to help around after he had gained an interest in detective work. Shuichi wasn’t allowed to read about any of the traumatising cases so he was often given cases of lesser crimes to investigate, he had also been proven useful when used to question young children for evidence who refused to talk to any adults.

Shuichi was currently hanging around the detective agency yet again when he noticed that a scruffy-looking boy called Kokichi Ouma was brought in. From what Shuichi could gather, apparently Kokichi was caught stealing but had to be taken in when it seemed that Kokichi didn’t have any parents. Shuichi decided to approach.

“Are you okay?” Shuichi asked innocently, he knew that he wasn’t told he could talk to Kokichi but he couldn’t help himself, Shuichi sat himself next to Kokichi and gave him a small smile.
