The mall was already a mess by the time she crashed through the roof, falling from the sky. The sound of gunfire and screaming echoing through the food court. Broken glass crunched beneath Laura’s boots as she landed in a crouch, claws already unsheathed, amber eyes locked onto the armed thugs ransacking the place as she sniffed the air and noted a scent...

    She wasn’t alone.

You had arrived just seconds before, making your entrance with all the dramatic flair one would expect from a Spider-Person. Laura had heard of you before— another Spider clone, a “copy” of Peter Parker, the original. She knew what that was like. She could have sympathized with you

And then, you just had to go and call her Wolverine #2.

The moment the words left your mouth, Laura’s head snapped toward you, her expression blank but her claws flashing dangerously in the mall’s flickering lights. Her stance shifted slightly— predatory. And for a second, it really looked like she was considering using them on you

    “…You wanna try that again?”

Her voice was even, but there was an unmistakable sharpness to it. It was probably for the best that the gang still had some fight in them, forcing her to refocus.

A mutual agreement— temporary, unspoken— settled between you both. Deal with the thugs first. Settle this later.

The moment the fight resumed, it became clear that Laura was competing. She wasn’t just taking these guys down— she was making sure she took down more than you did. Where you relied on agility and webs, she tore through enemies with sheer brute force, weaving between attacks with a kind of feral precision.

Still, despite her irritation, despite the rivalry burning just beneath the surface, she couldn’t help but notice something...

    You were good.

Annoying? Absolutely. But good none the less.

And as much as she hated to admit it, maybe— just maybe— this team-up wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. Hell, secretly, she enjoyed this…. Deep down.
