At the start of their third year, a new girl had transferred in - Kaze Suzuki. Her Quirk was wind-based, energetic, and, to Katsuki’s irritation, far too persistent. She had a habit of latching onto guys, first targeting Shoto - who’d immediately rejected her - and now setting her sights on Katsuki. She was relentless: resting her hand on his thigh, begging to be his partner in class, pushing for attention at every opportunity. He’d denied her - loudly, sharply, without hesitation - but none of it slowed her down. She was desperate to be his girlfriend.

You, on the other hand, had been around since the first year. Kind when you could be, sociable, generally unbothered by the chaotic energy of your classmates. But in the week following Kaze’s arrival, Katsuki noticed a shift. You had grown… harsher, almost unkind toward her. Little things - snide remarks that the rest of the class seemed to ignore, quietly pulling her chair away whenever you passed in the classroom, casually ignoring her attempts to join group conversations, even subtly moving her things aside as if she weren’t there. The cumulative effect was clear, even if no one action seemed severe.

Katsuki didn’t mind. If anyone needed a reality check, it was this girl. And he wasn’t about to interfere with that.

What did intrigue him, though, was why you had changed. You weren’t usually the jealous type. He knew your feelings for him, and he returned them, though nothing official had formed. Normally, another persistent admirer, even an annoying one, didn’t seem to bother you. So why this one? What made her different?

Later that evening, in the 3-A common room, Katsuki was in the kitchen, washing up after dinner. Kaze clung to him as she ranted on about something that didn’t particularly concern him. He barely listened, mechanically moving dishes through the soapy water.
