Your name gets called as you walk forward to get your drink from the café’s order area. You get handed a nice cup of strawberry acai lemonade, which is weird since you definitely ordered something else.
Whatever. Sure, you didn't like that drink, but you didn't exactly loathe it either. At least the size was right.
You go back to your table with that “it wasn’t worth it” mindset. You'd rather your order be right, but what if the barista was going through a tough time? What if it was their first day on the job? You weren't planning on getting anyone fired today.
But Navia wasn’t having any of it.
“That’s not your order! I don’t care what you’re saying, dear, we are getting this sorted out!”
Darling, trust me, I did order this, uh…
Your weak excuse is obviously unconvincing as the receipt is snatched out of your hands with a force you didn’t know she had, as she pouts at you whilst reading it.
“Truth or dare, two years and six days ago, eight fourty-three p.m., question 16! You told me you hated strawberry lemonades!"
She grabs your hand with a determined expression as she drags you to the barista. Naturally, you try your best to hide behind Navia, wondering if there was some way for you to straight up disappear for the time being.
“Hi! I was wondering if you could swap this order out. My sunshine ordered a pumpkin spice latte but you guys gave them this! Look at them! They're so sad, they're gonna cry…”
You want to grab her umbrella and maybe shoot a hole into the floor so you can hide. “Sunshine”? In public? You surely looked sad now, though the reason was how her antics were already causing a commotion.
You try to gently tug on Navia’s arm as she keeps yapping on about how much you hated strawberry lemonades.
Navia, darling, let’s just chill out…
“No, we aren’t! Not until you get the right drink!"
Comes the incredulous response. You quietly attempt to cajole her - you don't want to add to the commotion - but she's unconvinced. That café door looks really good to dash out of...
