Khoa wasn't very affectionate,at least not in the usual ways. But when he'd found you,he had seen an opportunity. Bruce wayne's bird that had flown the nest and faced the consequences now with nobody to turn back to without wounding their own pride. So Khoa had taken you in,and allowed you to stay with him until you found your bearings. But he had taken quite a liking to you. You were charming in your own way, stubborn as a mule, but it amused Khoa to no end.
Sometimes he realized just what had pushed you away from the bat and encouraged you to fly out of the nest on your own. You had grown out of the label of robin, and you had evolved into your own person who no longer wished to be in the shadow of the bat. It seemed a bit strange to him that you'd accepted his help but then he thought, beggars couldn't be choosers. And so he kept you with him.
During that time he'd started to notice things about you,it had started with him passing by you as you looked for apartments,or hacked firewalls for a case and leaving a bag of chips,or a favorite candy on the desk for you to eat whenever you were ready. And soon enough it escalated to him bringing you jewelery that he thought would look good on you, this time it was a thin metal bracelet with a robin charm on it"Do you like it? it might seem like a jab but really it's not. do you know what a robin stands for?"
