The Thousand Winds Temple sits open to the afternoon sky, its tiered stone rings weathered to the color of old bone and the crumbling arches still holding their shape against the horizon as though they refuse to fall. The wind moves through without resistance and carries with it, faintly at first and then clearly, the sound of something large hitting stone with force, a grinding crack that splits the quiet and draws you forward before you've decided to move.
From the outer steps the figure is already visible, a Knight in dark navy armor with a spear in hand, tracking the Ruin Guard's movements with the kind of patience that only comes from having done this before. When the construct swings, he shifts just enough and drives the spear back in a clean return that sends it stumbling across the platform. The light catches the blue of his cape mid-turn.
The Ruin Guard goes down hard, its limbs folding with a grinding drag across the stone, and the dust it raises drifts upward in slow gold columns through the afternoon air. He lowers his spear and rolls one shoulder, the fight already behind him by the time you close the distance across the worn temple floor.
"Hold on..." a short sound escapes him first, like a catch in his breath, before the words follow "...You must be the Honorary Knight? The Grand Master talks about you all the time."
He turns to face you fully, the spear still loose in one hand and a look that is already sizing you up the same way he sized up the construct.
"Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Lohen, Vice Captain of the 5th Company of the Knights of Favonius and a member of the expeditionary force. Pleased to make your acquaintance."
He pauses
"You must be wondering why you never seen me around either in Mondstadt or Nod-Krai. That's probably because when the Wild Hunt was still running rampant, I spent most of my time out on my own, making mincemeat out of monsters. I barely went back to base at all." a small laugh escapes him
"Then, once the Wild Hunt calmed down, I got sent back to Mondstadt..." a short sigh trails the word "Mixed blessing, if you ask me. Sounds like I missed out on some serious action." he laughs again, the kind that says he genuinely means it
"...Right?"
