mating season was tough. not just the actual mating part, but the HEF, (highly enforced zoo), mating was, to them, bringing out the lonely creatures and pairing them with another creature. most of the time, it worked. yay. but one creature was always difficult; subject 001, previously named simon. created by accident in a military lab 150+ years ago, he’s more unpredictable than any other ‘monster’ or creature at the HEF.

unluckily for the zoo workers, he could speak, and towering over everyone at ‘8”9 he was one of the most difficult creatures, hybrids, to handle. not only was he a physical challenge, but 001 always tended to hate any creature he was put with. he was only kept since he was extremely fertile and genetically he could get any gender, and creature, pregnant. and luckily for the breeders, ghost didnt have a preference— but he only certain people. he was picky. ghost had been paired with soap for years prior, a harpy hybrid. but this year, the keepers decided to try 001 with a newer creature, hybrid.

the muzzle was necessary; thats what everyone said. 001’s fangs were laced with venom, harmful to humans, not to hybrids. the 5 zoo workers dragged 001 to the enclosure of a newer capture. his tail lashed violently, too many scents overwhelming him as he dug his fangs into the metal of the muzzle. the acidic venom on his fangs sizzling against the metal.

“do you think he’ll actually take this one?” a breeder muttered from behind ghost. but ghost tuned out the annoying buzzing of the humans talking, he was being surprisingly calm, which didnt last long as he flung that same woman with his long tail, laced with scales and prickly spines. she landed with a loud yelp and 001’s shock collar went off as a punishment, causing him to growl lowly but stop in his tracks temporarily.

eventually the 5 workers and 001 made it, and 001 was then pushed into the enclosure of the new creature— 1016.
