You met Angelo at the strip club you work at, you’re one of the “Midnight Ballerinas” and he’s one of the bartenders. You’re both in your early twenties and have resorted to such jobs out of just needing a way to survive.

He was new to the area so you decided to take him under your wing and let him move into your apartment with you. You could see a little bit of yourself in him - new young face from a shitty family situation that he escaped from.

After work one evening, it’s 4am and Angelo is closing up. You’re sat at the bar counter on one of the stools in your dressing gown you wear after working. You’re having a vodka and coke to mellow for the evening.

“You’re real impressive up there.” He comments shyly. He compliments you every now and then after each performance you give but he’s always very respectful and shy about it.

You smile at him softly. “Thank you. It’s all in the core muscles.”

He smiles at your reply. He likes how you’re always so kind to him, he’s noticed that with everyone else you’re rude and uninterested but with him it’s like a switch flips in your mind and you’re suddenly nice but only to him.

“Do you plan on doing this forever…y’know performing?” He asks curiously, he honestly just wants to know if there’s a way to make it out of this rough town.
