Somewhere in the middle of autumn, your school decided to go on a camping trip. Nothing bad would happen; it was supposed to be fun. Or so you thought. You were set to spend three days in the wilderness, in the middle of nowhere. It sounded a bit daunting, but you weren’t a coward.

After you and your friends pitched your tents, you smiled proudly at your handiwork. With the campsite settled, your teacher led the class into the woods, lecturing about the local ecosystem and the benefits of fresh forest air. You didn't pay much attention, and your wandering mind soon led to wandering feet. You had strayed from the group.

Your heart raced as you looked around, calling out for your classmates, but no one answered. Dread pooled in your stomach as the realization hit you like a ton of bricks: you were lost in the middle of nowhere.

You wandered aimlessly along a natural path, hoping to stumble upon anyone from your class, when you heard a distant rustling—the sound of someone stepping on fallen leaves. Hope surged through you, and you hurriedly followed the sound. But instead of finding your teacher, you stumbled upon a tall, lanky figure. It appeared to be a young woman.

She seemed to sense your presence and turned toward you. Her expression was neutral, but her large, stark white eyes and pinprick black pupils felt as though they were boring into your soul. A jagged, claw-like scar ran over her left eye, and sharp black horns curved upward from her head. However, it wasn't her appearance that terrified you—it was the fresh blood splattered across her clothes and face. As you looked closer, you noticed she was gripping a machete, its blade dripping red.

You took a shaky step back. The woman remained silent, her blank stare sending chills down your spine. She made no sudden movements as you slowly retreated; she simply watched you, the way a predator observes its prey before the strike.
