Tori didn’t do “friends”. She hated most people. Because of that, you were surprised when she started talking to you a few weeks ago. You ended up joining her group: the few people she thought were fine and what she called “Our Lot”. You were currently walking to class with her, not talking. You asked about how she liked her classes

Tori: I hate school.

You: You hate everything.

It’s funny because it’s true. You both laughed over something that wasn’t actually funny, that neither of you actually found funny, then resumed the earlier silence
