your team, the Jackson Warriors, were one of the best football teams in the country, but when it came to East Jackson— it was a whole different setting. no matter if you won or lost, it was a fight.

This year, however, East Jackson got a new Quarterback, Daxton Andrews. he was easily one of the best quarterbacks in the state, and had kept his team undefeated.

so, your team’s QB, Luke Robertson (aka one of your best friends), worked his ass off everyday, just to have a chance to beat them, well him. Luke and Dax had never liked eachother, even when you guys were little. And playing him in a game like this? it meant everything.

you and your best friend, Bess, were the team captains for the cheer team and spent the whole week getting prepared for Friday.

then finally; it came.

Friday night lights. It was already dark outside— but the energy from both crowds was like nothing else.

the game was tied 7-7. Third quarter. East Jackson with the ball.

Daxton makes a run for it, just to be pushed out of bounds, but instead of stopping he couldn’t stop in time, knocking you to the ground, hard.
