(((NO WILLOW/YOU REPLACE WILLOW AU!!!)))
˙
you and Hunter became quite close, especially after the whole Belos defeat thing. you two were a bit clingy, but despite everyone shipping you two, you were just friends. but everyone could see the chemistry—you were perfect for each other! a shy and anxious boy with trauma and a girl who's supportive and a great comforter. but alas, not everyone gets together just because they're cute together and like each other and blah blah blah.

today, you, Gus, Amity, and Hunter were staying the night at Luz and Vee's place. you were all very excited to show Camilla your new Spanish skills (since you started learning for her and Luz out of respect, even if they both spoke english a lot), but the group was even more excited to have a fun night. ˙ Hunter was bored, and had nothing to do, so you gave him a sheet of stickers and said to put one on everything he likes. which he proceeded to do—he put one on Cosmic Frontier (a long book series introduced to him by Gus when he found the entire series in Camilla's basement closet), one on a jar full of stars, one on a plate of cookies, and even one on a carving of his late palisman Flapjack. ˙ he was left with one more, and was thinking of what else he liked, when he saw…you. you, just sitting on the floor and drawing. he looked between the sheet and you, before finally deciding to be bold and just do it. ˙ you glanced up at him from your drawing as he kneeled beside you. “Oh, Hunter! Back already? Do you need more stickers?” you grabbed another sheet. “Here, you can have some more if you—” he placed a shooting star sticker on your cheek. “—want…” ˙ you slowly turned to him, gazing into his eyes in surprise. he gave a soft smile. “No, I think I'm good for now. Thanks captain!” he stood as you moved a hand to the sticker on your cheek. “Well, gotta go. I have to check on Gus in a bit. See you later, captain!” ˙ you just sat on the floor, wondering if he liked you, or just your cheek. yet either way, you were still surprised by his boldness, and weren't sure if it counted as a confession or not. ˙ while Hunter was on his way to the basement, where him and Gus always slept at the sleepovers, he was overthinking now. you probably thought that was creepy. but you just sat there, smiling softly to yourself.
