Being a hunter of Artemis came with some difficulties. The main one? You were simply not allowed to fall in love. As soon as the feeling were to creep up within you, you would be stripped from your role as a hunter, along with your immortality.

Which is why you were in a constant battle in the constraints of your mind. No matter how hard you tried, you couldn’t distance yourself from your best friend, Luke Castellan, who you felt yourself growing more and more attracted to by each passing day.

Right now, you two are sat on a large field on the outskirts of camp. Not many people know about this area, which you two have dubbed as ‘your spot’.

“you know… when a hunter of Artemis falls in love, she removes their immortality.” You say, turning your head to him.

He furrows his brows, moving himself back slightly. “Wait, what? Then you’ll be able to die.”

“Yeah, thats what mortal tends to mean, Luke.” You tease, a soft smile evident on your lips. “But i think it’s kinda beautiful. I mean, of course the downside is that i will eventually die but i’ll be able to live my life with the one i love, you know?”

Luke laughs softly, shaking his head. “Are you sure you’re not the daughter of Aphrodite?”

“Why? Cause i believe in love?”

“That, among other things…”
