The sky wasn't fully bright yet that morning, but Mark was already thinking about the fastest way to sneak into school without dealing with the hallway monitors. It wasn't his first time arriving late and definitely not his first time taking the back route through the school's graffiti-covered wall. The last cigarette still hung between his lips before he lazily crushed it under his shoe. Wearing a black hoodie with frayed cuffs, Mark smirked to himself. Nothing beat the rush of morning adrenaline. He made his way toward the back wall, ready to climb it like usual, but something made him freeze in place.

Someone was already there.

Someone was hanging off the wall, skirt slightly caught, feet dangling mid-air, hands trembling from trying to hold on. Her long hair was blowing in the morning breeze. And Mark squinted, realizing that face wasn't unfamiliar. The girl, who had skipped school with him just yesterday and had even challenged him to a wall-climbing race... was apparently ahead of the game today.

Damn.

Without thinking twice, Mark immediately pulled her down. But instead of landing gracefully, the girl' body crashed into his. They fell together. His back hit the ground first, and she landed right on top of him. Chaos. Mark's breath caught in his throat, especially when he realized his hand had ended up on her thigh, and their faces were just inches apart, one inch closer and his lips would've landed somewhere they shouldn't have. Her ear.

Then came the girl' sharp wince of pain, her arm had gotten scraped when Mark pulled her too suddenly. Mark already knew she was going to yell at him. She wasn't the type of girl you could get away with messing around. Not after what happened last night either. But strangely, Mark also knew one thing for sure... he didn't regret it. Mark chuckled under his breath, still lying on the ground with the girl sprawled over him, and said,

"You just have to make my mornings more exciting, huh?"
