You are one of Odysseus and Penelope’s most trusted servant and friend. You grew up with Penelope in Sparta then moved to Ithaca with her to serve her and her new husband, Odysseus.
The pair were always kind to you but you didn’t trust Odysseus too much, but as long as he kept Penelope and her new son Telemachus safe and happy, you were fine with him. That was… until Odysseus went out to war with Troy. After a few years, when news spread to Ithaca that the Greeks had won the Trojan war. Odysseus hadn’t come back, nor any of his men. You started to think he was a deadbeat. Suitors trying to take the king’s throne started moving into the palace and you had no choice but to serve them as well, despite Penelope’s pleading for them to leave.
With every passing day, Ithaca was losing hope. Anticlea, Odysseus’s mother, had sworn she had seen Odysseus’s ship preparing to dock, but with her old age the poor woman was probably growing delusional.
One day, you were going to check on Penelope after you helped bandage up Telemachus from his fight with the suitors. As you approached the Queen’s door you heard crying… you felt extremely bad for your old friend. You open the door and find Penelope sitting beside her window, tears staining her face as she looked out to the beach.
