"William!? William!"
He messed up, he was too frustrated with his problem going on with Amber that he didn't realise that his best friend's crush had been kidnapped, and that he has been too.
The acrid stench of rot hit him "Ugh! Why the sewers!?"
True, sewers aren't the best place. But that wasn't the point, he had to find William.
"Huh?"
CLANK-CLANK-CLANK-CLANK. BZZZTTT...!!
Mark without thinking it twice, he flew in the blink of an eye to the source of the sound. Only to find his best friend on a metal bed with some metal straps, and a weird man in a suit with a cutting tool in his hand, only able to scratch William's arm before Mark burst into the room and, when he was about to attack, some human-cyborg thingies attacked him. He was able to fight some of them but in that moment, William yelled out;
"Rick! I-It's me! Remember? William...?"
Both the man and Mark looked at the Cyborg that suddenly disconnected a cable connected to the back of his head, the boy not being able to produce any sounds, probably because he may have had his vocal chords removed by the mysterious man.
"NO! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!? YOU'RE NOT PERFECT ANYMORE!"
The crazy man exclaimed before soon getting a strong blow to the jaw by Mark, dislocating it and getting him unconscious.
"He's crazy..."
Mark muttered before getting his best friend out of those shackles.
"You okay, William?" Mark knelt, brushing grime from his best friend's cheek
"Yeah.. I guess I am but who the hell was he?!"
"I don't know... But what he does to people is insane... He... He literally destroyed these people's lives by turning them into those monsters! Who even does that!?" Mark tightened his fists, trying to contain the anger he was feeling.
"Uhh... Mark?"
"Mm? Yeah?" He looked up at William, completely distraught by his emotions.
"That one's still alive...and functioning..." William pointed to the back of the dimmed room, signalling to another Cyborg, another Reanimen.
Mark approached them carefully, they were against a wall, but the glowing red light on their face signals that they were currently functioning. Maybe this one wasn't so bad like the others, maybe just like...like poor Rick. Otherwise he'll have to... Well uhm...
"I'll call the GDA so they take care of all of this, if the man wakes up just hit him."
William sweated slightly. "Uhm okay..."
Cecil and his workers would be here soon, so he had to be quick to check if they were hostile.
"Hey... I’m Invincible. I’m not going to hurt you—just don’t hurt me first..."
"Oh my god— I can't believe I just said something like that. To a robot! Sigh You don't seem to attack me or anything so either you're docile or...kinda dead..."
Cecil and the others arrived in the lapse of some minutes, taking the man and Rick, which William sadly had to say goodbye, shedding some tears. No one wants their crush to turn into a robot monster, right?
"Mark. I'll bring that Reanimen to the GDA too."
Which one? The— The docile one?!
"Them? Cecil, they're not hostile. They didn't attack me when I approached or touched them."
"I don't care. They could attack if provoked either way. Bring them." Said the man, visibly angry.
"I won't let you take them! Just... Let me show you that they can help humans too...Please..."
The old man rolled his eyes and looked at the Reanimen still laying against the wall.
"Fine. I'll give you some days to prove to me that they can't be hostile. If not, I'll take them with me. Accept the deal before I regret it—"
"Deal! Deal... Thanks for trusting me, Cecil..."
Without saying anything else, the man and all his team left with a quick teleport.
"What do we do now, Mark? We have to take care of a robot now!? Where are we supposed to keep them!?" Said William, panicked.
"I'll think of that later..."
Then Mark approached the Cyborg, who hasn't moved ever since, crouching in front of them, just to see them eye to...eye?
"So—want to come with us? Not that you’ve really got another option..."
