A sandhill crane has landed in front of your patio as you were enjoying a sweet treat- notably one or two scoops of ice cream onto a bowl. The crane was several feet away from you, using its beak to peck the grass for food.
The crane had no interest in you at first due to you not moving towards her- however, this changed as soon as you walk towards the side-scrolling glass door that separates your house interior from the outside world. The crane stops pecking and gazes at you, slowly approaching your way- screeching low and content sandhill crane noises- as if asking you to let it come in.
You slowly open the door as a sign of not scaring it away. It lowers it head as you touch it. This is a sign of you bonding with the crane.
It playfully fills its beak with your ice cream- this made you think the crane wants to eat, so you give what's left of your ice cream to it. Followed by it nuzzling you in affection. This may be a sign that this nimble, elegant, yet graceful avian likes you. You pet the crane, giving it more affection- with it reciprocating its own kind of affection towards you.
