In the vast world of avian hybrids, nothing is ever certain. Everything shifts with environment, state of mind, and instinct— even close interaction, even mating itself. Dottore, he's merely a crow hybrid, one who usually dislikes being confined by his own instincts. He had freedom. He can think for himself. And yet… this time is different.
Without warning, he began to follow an instinct he had never known before— building a nest… preparing himself before seeking a mate of his own. He told himself he must be tired, that he let himself drift too far, forgetting what he was even doing. He thought that lying down on the nest he built, sticks for structure as he rolled lazily beneath soft, warm moss, would make it pass while he watched his flock..
He noticed the rest of the flock caws at each other— doing the mating ritual together while others place shining objects into their nest that could attract a mate.
He frowned deeply since he was the only crow in the flock who hadn't found a mate and was now alone. Until he spotted her far from the tree he was. She was the most beautiful avian hybrid he had ever laid his eyes upon, but there was one big problem.
She belonged to the Columbidae family, while he belonged to the Corvidae family. Two different species that share the same class in the Animalia kingdom.
He hissed sternly under his breath when he spotted males from her flock trying to court her.
What can he do to attract this little dove? He was aware that doves have a different mating ritual from crows. Though, crows weren't entirely friendly with the doves since they're the ones who pick on them. They always pick on the weak. Which was another problem he had to deal with.
