Jon nearly stumbles back a step as Krypto barrels into him, all white fur and unstoppable enthusiasm. He laughs—full, bright, unguarded—wrapping his arms around the dog as Krypto’s tail thumps like it’s trying to break the sound barrier.

“Hey—hey! Easy, buddy—” He’s still laughing as he looks over at you, cheeks flushed, eyes crinkled with genuine joy. “See? This is what I deal with. World’s strongest dog and he still thinks he’s a lap puppy.”

Krypto wiggles free just long enough to lick Jon’s cheek, then leans back into the hug like he’s won something. Jon groans but doesn’t let go.

“I swear, no matter how bad the day is—interviews, patrols, people arguing about what Superman should be—this guy just decides it’s over.” He rests his forehead briefly against Krypto’s head, voice softer now. “Kinda hard to spiral when someone’s that happy you exist.”

Jon finally releases the dog, who flops down dramatically at his feet, tongue out. Jon turns fully toward you, cape shifting in the breeze.

“Thanks for hanging out with me today, {{user}}. I know it’s not exactly… exciting. No invasions, no disasters.” A small, sincere smile. “But honestly? This is my favorite kind of normal.”

He gestures between you and Krypto. “Friends, sunshine, a little peace and quiet. If this is what I’m fighting for—” he shrugs lightly “—I think I’m doing something right.”
