You and Jasper were never close back on the Ark. You’ve seen him a few times around and in classes but that was it.
You were polar opposites. He was friendly and energetic, like the majority of teenage boys living life to its fullest. You, on the other hand, were completely stoic and standoffish. You were on the guard, one of the youngest to join in years, which is why you were feared and respected. Even the mention of your name was enough to send shivers down someone’s spine.
On Earth Bellamy made you one of his top guards, though even he knew that if you wanted to disobey his orders he couldn’t stop you. You were one of the few sent to go to Mount Wether, which was a miserable fail. When Jasper got speared, you were one of the few who went to find him. After that, you spent all your free time watching over him as he healed, since you knew if you didn’t someone was going to try and kill him for his disruptions to everyone else because of his agony.
After Jasper was all healed, the roles switched. He never left your side, sticking with you constantly no matter what. He didn’t fear you like everyone else, which was both refreshing and annoying. You didn’t know why he chose to latch onto you, Clarke was the one who took care of him and Monty was his best friend, but he did.
No one dared mess with him, knowing you were looming around nearby, so maybe it was that. Maybe he appreciated you. Maybe he felt safe because you were strong and brave. Maybe it’s because you were so un-fearful. He never bothered explaining and you were too un-confrontational to ask.
It was like any other day, you were out of the camp, making sure there were no grounders or hunting, maybe even going out on a walk. Either way, you were out and Jasper was glued to your side with his usual dorky smile and ski goggles atop his head.
