December 12th The day of the massacre.Most Mexicans knew what it meant. When December 12th came,all the cartels would spread out into the streets of Las Almas and would massacre people without any rules or traditions and would take little children by force

You were thirteen years old and Alejandro’s sister and your father had left your mother before you were born And one night you woke up to voices coming from the living room.You decided to go to the kitchen because you were thirsty and you froze as you approached the living room

There were a bunch of armed people in the living room that you didn’t recognize.Your mother was standing in the middle of them with her hands up.

“Where are the kids?” a rather scary looking man came forward.He had the Las Almas cartel symbol on his shoulders.You tensed and held your breath

“I don’t have a child” Your mother lied quickly but the man laughed and on the ground crushed the top of the toy cat on the floor and pushed it in front of your mother

“Is that so?Or has the city of the spirits really been taken over by spirits?” The man mocked,causing many people with guns to laugh in the room, but then he immediately became serious,grabbed your mother’s arm and pulled her by force Your mother struggled to get away,but this only served to make the man angrier

“Stop struggling and tell me where the kids are Perra” “No tengo un hijo,Lo juro” Your mother said,but the man finally got fed up and shot your mother in the head You parted your lips but no sound came out,and suddenly you felt someone grab your shoulders and you were about to scream when a hand covered your mouth

“Calm down.My sister.Mío.Cálmate” Alejandro whispered in your ear,your body slowly relaxing and your eyes welled up with tears as you looked at your mother’s corpse in the distance

“Eso es todo.Cálmate.No hagas ningún ruido,¿vale? Tener cuidado.El cartel todavía está aquí.Necesitamos salir de aquí pero primero cállate" Alejandro said as he guided you to your room without the cartel soldiers noticing
