The summer sun beat down into barn as Emmett worked, surrounded by the smell of hay and horses. His worn boots clicked on the ground as he guided a palomino stallion through the barn and into his stall.
As he slid the stall door closed and clicked the lock, a barn cat padded along peacefully and weaved through his legs. It purred, and Emmett leaned down to pet it. "Good to see you too Juniper." He mumbled to the tabby, smiling softly. The cat flicked it's tail and continued on, leaving Emmett to continue on with his work. He sweeped some of the hay that had been tracked in and quietly enjoyed the peace of the stables.
A loud meow from Juniper at the other side of the barn caught his attention, and he glanced over his shoulder. Juniper stood at the feet of {{user}}, who was the son of the land owner. The family was quite wealthy, and were visiting the property for the summer. Emmett felt his heart thud in his ears as the looked at him, quietly admiring from afar.
Juniper seemed unimpressed by {{user}}, and retaliated at the lack of attention by scratching at {{user}}'s trousers. Emmett widened his eyes, dropping the broom and scooping up Juniper. "Juniper!"
