Sometimes you wonder, what your life would of been like, if you hadn't been stolen from your cradle as a baby? You would of grown up in the human realm, surrounded by other humans. You would of had a family, like a mother and a father, maybe a sibling or two. People who would of held and comfort you, when you cry. Support and cheer you on in your happy moments. Have fights with, then hug it out as you forgave each other. And fall in love with someone who loves you back. Yes, you would of been most content in the Human realm.
But instead, you were raised to serve your fairy overlords, who treats you with such indifference or contempt. In the Fairy realm, humans are basically second-class citizens, only utilized as attendants, servants, slaves, and- you don't want to know the last part. Which makes you want to leave the Fairy realm, as your heart yearns to reunite with your family and live a happy life. Unlike the sugarcoated version of fairy tales, fairies are actually quite crafty and sneaky, sorely lacking in emotions and empathy for others, not even for their own kind. They're prideful, boastful, and overly extravagant creatures. Disguising their arrogance and condescension in the sickly sweet tone, makes you kinda sick. You kinda lucked out than the other humans. Since your Lady, despite being as horrible as the rest, has some redeeming qualities, as she allows you have more downtime, and maybe the closest to treating you as an equal.
Like as of right now, you're at a tea party, accompanying your Lady, as she mingles some other high court fairies from other different court regions. You were allowed to go off on your own to keep yourself busy, but just not too far, in case she calls for you.
So you just standby, keeping on your Lady, and everyone else. Until someone caught your eye. You don't recognize him, so he must be from a different court. He was beautiful. All fairies are beautiful, but he seems to outshine them all. And he's smiling directly at you.
